Coastglen Financial, a small-business funding service in Pensacola, FL, helps owners request equipment financing for vehicles, kitchen lines, lifts, mowers and clinical equipment, new or used. Funding partners review the quote, the equipment's age and the business's history, then decide and set terms. The machine itself can be the security.
| Pays for | Vehicles, machines, kitchen and clinical gear |
|---|---|
| Used equipment | Some partners consider it; age and condition matter |
| Structures | Loan, lease or an EFA |
| Security | Can be the equipment itself |
| Partners read | Quote, equipment age, business history |
| Who decides | The funding partner |
Used equipment financing
Used equipment can be financed: a three-year-old truck or a reconditioned lift can cost less than a new one and still have years of work in it. Partners may look at the age, hours or mileage, and the seller. A dealer invoice documents the quote; a private sale needs a bill of sale, proof of ownership and sometimes an inspection.
Older machines can get shorter schedules. How long you can finance equipment generally tracks how long it will keep working; a partner may not stretch payments past the machine's useful life.
Restaurant and kitchen equipment
Ranges, hoods, walk-in coolers, fryers and dish machines are examples of kitchen equipment. Restaurants and other eating places had 521 employer establishments in Escambia County, FL in 2023 (U.S. Census Bureau, County Business Patterns 2023). When a cooler fails, the cost of waiting is lost food and lost covers, so it helps to know your options before the breakdown.
The restaurant page covers kitchen equipment alongside build-outs and second locations.
Contractor trucks, tools and machines
Used construction equipment financing covers skid steers, excavators, trailers, work vans and the tools that go in them. A contractor can finance a machine once the contract that needs it is won; bring the contract or letter of intent with the quote.
See contractors and builders for the wider cash cycle on construction jobs, and auto repair shops for lifts, diagnostic tools and alignment rigs.
Equipment loan vs lease, and the finance agreement in between
| Structure | Title holder until paid off | At the end | Fits when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Equipment loan | The business, subject to the partner's lien | You own it outright | You will use it for years |
| Lease | The lessor | Hand back, extend, or buy at the preset price | Technology changes fast or you want to return the equipment |
| Equipment finance agreement | The business, with the partner holding a security interest | You own it once paid | Ownership matters and you want a single agreement |
Tax and accounting treatment can differ by structure; ask a tax professional.
Medical and clinical equipment
Imaging units, dental chairs, lasers and practice software are equipment too. Practices can finance them separately from a build-out so the asset secures its own payments. The medical practice funding article walks through how equipment, build-out and receivables timing fit together.
What to bring
- A quote or invoice with make, model, year and price
- For used equipment: hours or mileage, condition and the seller's details
- Business bank statements
- What the equipment will do for revenue, in a sentence or two
The payment calculator in our guides works for any amount financed, rate and term, so it can also estimate an equipment loan payment. Or call (850) 669-5365 and we will walk through it with you.
How long can you finance equipment before the term outruns the machine?
Terms can follow the equipment's working life. A heavy truck or a dental chair might be financed over several years; a laptop or a scan tool over a much shorter period. Partners may not set payments that outlast the equipment, and used equipment can get a shorter term than new.
A useful check: if the equipment would need replacing before the last payment, the term is too long. Ask for a schedule that ends while the machine still has life in it.
Business loan to buy equipment, or equipment financing?
A general term loan can buy equipment, but equipment financing is tied to the machine, which secures it. If the machine is part of a larger expansion, a single term loan is one option to compare. For cash needs around the purchase, compare a merchant cash advance carefully against these options; it is not a loan and its cost works differently. Compare all six, read how a request moves, or see the Pensacola, FL page for local counts.
